Dr Dennis Hitchen  BAnSc , BSc (Hon1), BVSc

Welcome Dennis to our Albion Park Vet family.

Prior to becoming a vet, Dennis completed a Bachelor of Animal Science and a Bachelor or Science (Hon1) in 2007, and worked as a researcher in Ecology for the first 3 years. In 2015, Dennis graduated from The University of Sydney after completing a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.

Dennis spent the first 5 years working as a mixed practice Veterinarian in the Central West of NSW in a small town called Blayney where he saw everything from Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Alpacas, to dogs, cats, pocket pets, and wildlife. In 2020, Dennis made the move to the Coast working as a locum until starting with us at Albion Park Vet Hospital.

 

Dennis has a broad interest within the industry, with particular interest in surgery, internal medicine, production animal medicine, and Wildlife. He is APAV and AAVet Accredited, Ovine Brucellosis Accredited, and can provide export advice and examination for companion animals.  

When not working Dennis enjoys playing golf, long distance running, indoor rock climbing and bush walking. Dennis shares his home with a gorgeous Border Collie named Fly that is his world.
